Getting the most from cottage weekends
Put the code on the fridge, not in a message. A cottage weekend has no single host and no announcement, so the code has to be somewhere everyone goes, and everyone goes to the fridge. A second copy on the boathouse door catches the people who spend the whole weekend on the water. Tell the family once, on the first night, that the gallery is where the weekend goes, and that uploading from the dock is optional: a photo that stalls on one bar of signal is queued on the phone and goes through when the phone finds a connection with the page open, and anything else can be sent from the same code on the highway home. Most of a cottage gallery arrives on Monday evening for that reason.
One event per season saves the family from making a new code every long weekend. Name it for the cottage and the year, put the code up in May, and leave it until the water is turned off. Do the cousins need an app or an account?

Guest pages are in English, Español, Français, chosen from the phone, which matters when one side of the family is from Chicoutimi. A name is optional, and the teenagers who will not join a family group chat will still tap a button when the photo is of them jumping off the dock.
