Your photo booth, live in the gallery
Every print from your booth lands in the event's online gallery and on the big-screen slideshow within seconds, next to the photos guests take on their phones.
Works with dslrBooth, Sparkbooth or any software that saves to a folder. Runs in Chrome or Edge on the booth laptop. No app to install.
How booth sync works
Set it up once before guests arrive. Then leave the booth software running as usual.
- 1
Get the booth link
Open the event's dashboard and get the booth link. One link per event.
- 2
Open it on the booth laptop
Open the link in Chrome or Microsoft Edge on the booth's Windows or Mac laptop. No app to install.
- 3
Pick the folder
Choose the folder your booth software saves into. From then on, every new photo goes to the gallery and the live slideshow within seconds.
The event dashboard shows whether the booth laptop is connected, so you can check it from your phone during the event.
Works with the booth software you already use
Booth sync doesn't replace your booth software. It watches the folder that software saves into.
dslrBooth
Pick the folder dslrBooth saves finished prints into. On a default install that's Pictures\dslrBooth\Prints.
Sparkbooth
Pick the folder Sparkbooth saves its photos into. Each new file is picked up as soon as it's written.
Any software that saves to a folder
Other booth apps, tethering software or a camera's own transfer folder. If it saves files to a folder on the laptop, the booth link can watch it.
Already using fotoShare?
Keep it. Booth sync works from the booth's save folder rather than through fotoShare, so your fotoShare setup keeps working exactly as it does today and the same prints also reach the Picsui gallery and slideshow.
Built for a long night on venue Wi-Fi
A booth runs for hours with nobody watching the laptop. Sync is designed around that.
Waits for the file to finish
A print is only sent once the booth software has finished writing it, so you never get a half-saved image.
Never sends a photo twice
Each file is fingerprinted, so the same photo is never sent twice, even after a restart.
Holds photos when Wi-Fi drops
If the venue connection drops, new photos wait on the laptop and send on their own when it comes back.
Resume after a restart
If the laptop restarts, open the same link and press Resume. It picks up where it left off.
Keeps the screen awake
The booth link stops the laptop from going to sleep mid-event and pausing the sync.
You choose what goes up
Sending GIFs, boomerangs and videos is optional. So is sending the photos already in the folder before you started.
Booth prints and phone photos on one screen
Booth photos are credited “Photo booth” in the gallery and play on the live slideshow alongside what guests upload by scanning the QR code. The room sees the booth line and the dance floor in the same loop.
Booth photos skip the approval queue, because they come from your own booth. Guest uploads still follow whatever approval setting the host chose.
- Credited “Photo booth” in the gallery
- Shows on the live slideshow within seconds
- Sits next to guests' phone photos, not in a separate album
- Skips the approval queue
- Counts toward the event's plan limits like any upload
What you need, and what it won't do
- A Windows or Mac laptop running the booth software, with Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
- It does not work with iPad booths, such as LumaBooth on iPad.
- Picsui doesn't rent booths or send staff. Sync connects a booth you already run.
No booth at all? Guests' own phones can do the job. See the photo booth alternative.
Who it's for
Photo booth rental companies
Give every client a live gallery and a big-screen slideshow with their booth prints in it, without a second laptop or a manual upload at the end of the night.
Venues with a house booth
Booth prints and guest phone photos land in the same event gallery, so couples and companies get one place to find everything.
Planners
If the booth vendor is already booked, send them the booth link before the event. Their prints show up on your client's slideshow.
Booth companies that run events for clients can do it under their own brand on the Partner programme ($19/event), with the client's logo on each event and galleries on your own web address.
Photo booth sync questions
How do I get dslrBooth photos into an online gallery automatically?
In the Picsui event dashboard, get the booth link and open it in Chrome or Microsoft Edge on the booth laptop. Pick the folder dslrBooth saves prints into (on a default install, Pictures\dslrBooth\Prints). Each new print appears in the event gallery and on the live slideshow within seconds.
Does it work with Sparkbooth?
Yes. Booth sync reads the folder your booth software saves into, so it works with Sparkbooth, dslrBooth and any other booth or camera software that saves files to a folder on the laptop.
I use fotoShare. Can I still use this?
Yes. Keep using fotoShare as you do now. Booth sync works from the booth's save folder rather than through fotoShare, so the two run side by side.
Does it work with an iPad photo booth?
No. Booth sync needs a Windows or Mac laptop running Chrome or Microsoft Edge, because it watches a folder on that computer. iPad booth apps such as LumaBooth on iPad aren't supported.
What happens if the venue Wi-Fi drops?
New photos wait on the laptop and send automatically when the connection comes back. Nothing is sent twice. If the laptop restarts, open the same booth link and press Resume.
Are booth photos labelled differently from guest photos?
Yes. Booth photos are credited “Photo booth” in the gallery and appear on the live slideshow next to guests' phone photos. They skip the approval queue, since they come from your own booth.
Is the booth link secure?
Anyone with the booth link can add photos to that event, so keep it on the booth laptop. You can replace the link or turn it off from the dashboard at any time. Photos already sent stay in the gallery.
What does it cost?
Booth sync works on any Picsui event, with no extra charge for the sync itself. Booth photos count toward the event's plan limits like any upload: Free Preview shows the first 60 photos, and the Event Pass ($29 one-time) shows them all. Booth companies running client events can use Partner credits at $19/event.
Put the booth on the big screen
Create an event, open the booth link on the booth laptop, pick the folder. Booth sync is included on every event.
