1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember your preferences, understand how you use the site, and improve your overall experience.

2. How We Use Cookies

Picsui uses cookies, browser storage and similar technologies for the purposes below. Where a tracker depends on your choice, the rule is the same everywhere on the site: in the EU/EEA, the UK and Switzerland (and wherever we cannot tell your country), analytics and marketing trackers stay off until you accept them in the cookie banner; elsewhere they run unless you reject them. We work out your country from a small picsui_geo cookie that holds only a two-letter country code. Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel never load on guest event or gallery pages.

2.1 Essential Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the website to function properly and cannot be disabled. They include:

• Authentication cookies: Remember that you're logged in (set by our authentication provider, Supabase)
• Security: Cloudflare Turnstile runs a bot check on the sign-up form, and Stripe sets its own cookies on checkout to prevent fraud
• Country: picsui_geo, a two-letter country code kept for 30 days, used to apply the consent rules above and to suggest local pages
• Your cookie choice: picsui_cookie_consent (cookie, 1 year) and picsui-cookie-consent (browser storage)

2.2 Analytics

These help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.

• Google Analytics: page views, journeys and engagement. Uses Google's consent mode: where your choice is required, analytics storage stays denied until you accept analytics cookies. When allowed, Google sets its own cookies (usually _ga and _ga_*).
• PostHog: product analytics (pages viewed and actions taken, linked to your account if you are signed in). PostHog records nothing and stores nothing in your browser until you accept analytics cookies, wherever you are. Once you do, it keeps an identifier in a cookie and in browser storage (named ph_…_posthog).
• Vercel Analytics: counts page views without setting cookies.
• Our own visit record: on your first visit we keep the page that referred you and any campaign tags in browser storage (utm_attribution, and a random visitor_id) and record the visit on our own servers, so we can tell which channels bring customers. This is not shared with advertising networks.

2.3 Marketing

• Meta (Facebook) Pixel: measures our Facebook and Instagram ads (page views, sign-ups and purchases) and lets us show ads to past visitors. Follows the consent rules above for marketing cookies; never loaded in the iOS app. When loaded, Meta sets its own cookies (usually _fbp).

2.4 Functional

• Theme and language: your light/dark mode and language choices, kept in browser storage
• Dismissed messages: which tips and banners you have closed, kept in browser storage
• Partner referral: picsui_partner_ref, kept for 90 days when you arrive through a partner's referral link, so the partner is credited

2.5 Switched off

The site contains code for the following services, but they are not configured and do not load. We will update this policy before turning any of them on.

• TikTok Pixel: ad measurement; would follow the marketing-cookie rules above
• Yandex Metrica: analytics for our Russian-language pages, including session recording; would follow the analytics-cookie rules above
• Crisp: a support chat widget
• LogRocket: session replay for debugging
• Cloudflare Web Analytics: cookie-free page view counts

3. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are placed by third-party services that appear on our pages:

• Stripe: Payment processing (necessary for checkout)
• Cloudflare: Turnstile bot check on sign-up
• Google: Google Analytics, as described above
• PostHog: product analytics, as described above
• Meta: the Meta Pixel, as described above

4. Cookie Duration

Cookies have different lifespans:

• Session cookies: Deleted when you close your browser
• Persistent cookies: Remain for a set period (typically 1 year for preferences)
• Analytics cookies: Typically expire after 2 years
