A multigenerational family reunion where the biggest challenge wasn't collecting photos — it was making sure Abuela could see them too.

The Story

Every year, the Martinez family gets together for a weekend reunion at a lakeside cabin in Michigan. And every year, the photos end up scattered across a dozen group chats, three different cloud accounts, and someone's Facebook album that half the family can't access. This time, cousin Elena decided to try something different.

Elena set up a Picsui gallery and texted the QR code to the family group chat the morning of the reunion. The younger cousins started uploading immediately. For the older relatives, Elena printed a few cards with the QR code and simple instructions: "Point your phone camera here, tap the link, and pick your photos." Even Abuela, who is 82 and only uses her phone for WhatsApp and FaceTime, managed to upload three photos of the kids playing by the lake.

By Sunday evening, the gallery had 612 photos from 48 different family members. Elena shared the gallery link one more time in the group chat, and relatives who couldn't make the trip — including an uncle in Mexico City and a cousin studying abroad in London — browsed and downloaded their favorites. No app installs, no account creation, no confusion.

For the first time ever, we actually have all the reunion photos in one place. My tia in Mexico cried when she saw the pictures of all the grandkids together. That alone made it worth it.
